Assistant Professor of Recording Arts (Clinical Teaching Track)

Job Summary:
The University of Colorado Denver's College of Arts & Media, Department of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies, is looking for a full-time Clinical Teaching Track Assistant Professor of Recording Arts. This position offers a unique opportunity to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, engage in research, creative work, and service, while contributing to the growth of the Recording Arts emphasis and graduate program.
Responsibilities:
- Teach a 3/3 course load (18 total credit hours per academic year) in recording arts, including music production, digital audio, live sound, surround sound, music synthesis, and audio for post-production.
- Prepare course content, syllabi, lectures, presentations, and student assignments.
- Evaluate student work, track attendance and engagement, and provide student advisement.
- Engage in professional and academic community through publications, recordings, performances, multimedia, and professional development.
- Contribute to the function and operations of the department, representing the university, department, and students.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Music Production, Recording Arts, Audio Engineering/Post-production or related field.
- At least three years of teaching experience at the college or professionally comparable level.
- Proven experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a diverse population.
- Ability to communicate effectively, balance multiple projects, and maintain attention to detail.
- Demonstrated dedication to creating an inclusive learning and working environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching Audio Post-Production courses.
- Record of scholarly and/or creative work.
- National and/or international professional/industry experience in the field of Recording Arts.
- Experience collaborating on cross-disciplinary initiatives.
What We Offer:
