Job Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development: Build and mentor a high-performing team of security engineers based in India/Asia, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Strategic Security Architecture: Collaborate with US and China-based security engineers and partners to define and implement robust security architectures for Apple products, addressing emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
- Vulnerability Management & Threat Response: Lead the execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits, working closely with manufacturing partners and external testing labs to ensure adherence to the highest security standards.
- Security Testing & Validation: Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive testing plans, including functional, performance, and security testing, to validate the security of Apple products throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collaboration & Communication: Serve as a key point of contact with international manufacturing partners, vendors, and external security experts, facilitating the implementation of best-practice security methodologies and ensuring consistent security standards.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze data from vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits, translating findings into actionable insights for engineering and management. Present data effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Process Improvement & Innovation: Identify opportunities to improve security processes, tools, and methodologies, driving continuous improvement in Apple's security posture.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to relevant security standards, certifications (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2), and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify and assess security risks associated with Apple products and develop mitigation strategies.
- Stay Current on Threats: Continuously monitor the threat landscape and proactively adapt security strategies to address emerging threats.
Key Qualifications
- Proven Leadership: Minimum of 5+ years of experience leading and mentoring teams focused on security quality or reliability of consumer hardware.
- Industry Experience: Prior experience working at Apple, with Apple partners, or within the India/Asia region is highly preferred.
- Testing Expertise: Deep understanding of hardware and software security testing methodologies, including functional, performance, and security testing.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data from vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits, and to communicate findings effectively.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and manufacturing.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Lab Experience (Preferred): Experience working in a certified security lab is a plus.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (BTech or MTech) is required. A minimum of 1+ years of demonstrated experience in a security-focused role is required. 5+ years of experience in a leadership or management role is highly preferred. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with experience in security certifications or quality engineering within the consumer gadgets space.
