Remote Crisis Navigator - Mental Health Support Specialist

Join our dynamic team as a Remote Crisis Navigator, where you will play a vital role in providing critical mental health support and crisis intervention services to individuals in need. As a key member of our 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention team, you will provide outbound telephonic calls to individuals who have reached out to 988 and are at moderate to high risk of suicide, connecting them with essential resources and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct follow-up calls to assess suicide risk, update safety plans, and provide linkage to appropriate mental health resources for individuals who have reached out via chat/text and are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide.
  • Monitor and measure progress of individuals receiving follow-up services, ensuring they receive the support they need.
  • Attend bi-weekly team meetings and supervision to collaborate with colleagues and stay up-to-date on best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed call reports, ensuring seamless communication and continuity of care.
  • Meet the highest ethical and clinical standards, complying with all relevant accreditations and regulations.
  • Respond to incoming chats/texts from visitors utilizing 988, providing timely and compassionate support.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed, contributing to the smooth operation of our team.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (Certified Recovery Peer/Recovery Coach also accepted).
  • At least one year of experience in crisis intervention or suicide prevention (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with individuals via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods.
  • Demonstrated high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette, with a strong commitment to providing compassionate and supportive care.
  • Knowledge of suicide assessments and crisis intervention techniques, with the ability to provide service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and community resources.
