We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Contract Attorney to assist with legal research, brief writing, and drafting complex motions. The ideal candidate has a strong command of legal analysis and persuasive writing, particularly in the context of plaintiff-side litigation.
Contract Attorney Responsibilities
Conduct thorough legal research on issues related to personal injury, medical malpractice, and related litigation areas
Draft high-quality legal briefs, dispositive motions, oppositions, and memoranda
Analyze legal precedents and provide written recommendations or analysis
Collaborate with firm attorneys to refine arguments and ensure work product aligns with litigation strategy
Maintain awareness of filing deadlines and jurisdictional requirements
Ensure all written work adheres to Bluebook citation and local court rules
Contract Attorney Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in the state of Ohio
3+ years of experience with legal research and writing, preferably in a litigation-focused environment
Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills
Proficient with Westlaw, LexisNexis, or comparable legal research tools
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
Background in plaintiff personal injury or medical malpractice litigation is preferred
Prior clerkship, law review, or journal experience is preferred
Familiarity with Ohio state and federal court rules is a plus
