Job Description:
Wellabe is seeking a hybrid Accountant 1 to perform general accounting duties including preparing a wide range of financial records including balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports. This position will assist in analyzing trends, revenues, and expenses and perform account reconciliations. #LIHybrid
Be successful in this role
Someone in this role will:
Perform general accounting duties including routine and ad hoc journal entries, maintaining/balancing the general ledger to source systems, investigating and following up on discrepancies.
Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial close process including preparing balance sheets, income statements, variance analysis, reconciliations of intercompany accounts, account reconciliations, journal entry preparation and other related duties.
Prepare complex general ledger reconciliations on a timely basis at the end of a period (each month, quarter or year).
Prepare and maintain necessary information to support financial information and regulatory filings, including necessary calculations, work papers, and forms to comply with company standards and statutory requirements.
Prepare required quarterly and annual statement filings as assigned, including any notes, schedules and exhibits.
Provide support and respond to internal and external inquiries, including review and investigate statements/ledgers/records, provide information and correct errors in financial entries, documents, and reports using professional judgment and expertise.
Qualifications
General knowledge of the principles, processes, and practices related to financial accounting including the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting, ensure the accuracy of financial documents and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Ability to apply accounting techniques and standard practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions.
Analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
Bachelor's in accounting, finance or related field. Combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
Internship or experience, a plus.
