Job Description Nearpod is seeking a temporary Curriculum Developer to join our team! Responsibilities include crafting, reviewing, and editing lessons across K-12 Social Studies content with a focus on grade-level appropriateness, standards alignment, and the instructional experience. You will be deepening and growing Nearpod's Social Studies program offering, ensuring all content is engaging, fact-checked, appropriate for classroom use, and inclusive of all learners. We need an independent worker who can manage projects simultaneously with a large number of deliverables, on time, while maintaining high-quality development. Temporary Assignment - 10 months Our Ideal Candidate Will: • Build, edit, and review lessons and activities across K-12 History and Social Studies content in a meticulous manner • Craft purposeful and methodology-informed learning experiences centered around engagement • Ensure content resources are aligned to learning outcomes, targeted instructional objectives, and specific content standards • Deliver projects on time and within scope • Support the mentoring, training, and managing of writers during projects • Implement Social Studies instructional strategies informed by current trends, standard methodologies, and innovative approaches prioritized by the team. Qualifications Education and work experience • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education, history, or a field related to social studies. • Previous experience as a K-12 social studies educator with knowledge of pedagogy, standards, and instructional design • Previous experience with curriculum writing, preferably as a freelancer for an educational technology company • Deep knowledge of instructional design principles and practices Tech skills • Experience using educational technology tools in creative ways • Experience using spreadsheets and the Google suite of tools (Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets) Content Creation Skills • Excellent writing skills • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to build content that is inclusive of all learners Self-management and team skills • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously • Ability to work collaboratively with a team • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
