This is a remote role based out of Boston with occasional travel to other east coast offices.
About the Role
The Accounting Manager, Complex Transactions & Special Projects will play a critical role in strengthening the company’s financial foundation as it scales and report directly to the SVP Controller. This individual will focus on researching and documenting accounting treatments for non-standard transactions, leading technical accounting projects, and supporting audit and compliance initiatives. The role offers significant visibility across Finance, Legal, Operations, and Executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Research and document U.S. GAAP accounting for complex and non-routine transactions
• Draft technical memos and internal policies on revenue recognition, share-based comp, leases, impairments, and acquisitions
• Serve as a key liaison during audits, preparing supporting documentation and guiding responses
• Contribute to month-end and quarter-end close, particularly in technical areas
• Evaluate and enhance internal controls and audit readiness processes
• Lead or assist with high-impact special projects across Finance and Operations
What You’ll Bring
• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
• 5+ years of experience in public accounting or blend of public/industry (ideally with experience on SaaS/Tech clients)
• Expertise in U.S. GAAP and SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606)
• Strong research, technical writing, and communication skills
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite preferred
• Comfort in a fast-paced, high-growth, global organization
• Intellectual curiosity and ability to simplify complex concepts for stakeholders
