Associate Analyst - Payroll Operations
About the position
Responsibilities
• Analyze and approve/coordinate multiple payroll processes for all pay groups within the assigned timeline
• Use critical thinking skills to perform an exploratory analysis on multiple payroll processes to identify and proactively resolve problems
• Run queries and analyze data for multiple payroll processes, using pivot tables and v-lookups when applicable
• Submit changes/adjustments based on outcome of analysis
• Take action to resolve problems found within payroll, benefits, deductions, and tax data. If needed, escalate to the appropriate stakeholders for approvals and/or discussion to resolve the issue
• Research and provide resolution on payroll issues while working cross-functionally within the department and across the company
• Plan and develop timelines, as well as address issues and identify solutions for various payroll processes
• Understand and apply applicable labor contracts for various work groups
• Understand and research data from multiple systems and how they interface with PeopleSoft and the employee's paycheck. Analyze all transactions from the various systems
• Process Help Hub tickets and handle incoming phone call inquiries/issues from employees
• Manage, train, and handle other payroll related projects as assigned
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years payroll, accounting, or relevant finance experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, etc.)
• Strong verbal/written communications skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy; high attention to detail
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; team player
• Ability to manage time and follow through, with high level of initiative
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
• Ability to drive process improvements on a departmental basis
• Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations in a professional manner, including meeting deadlines
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Nice-to-haves
• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience in Finance
• Multi-state payroll knowledge
• Extensive working knowledge of payroll processing
