About the Opportunity

This is a project-based contract position, offering a competitive compensation of USD 2.00 per audio minute transcribed. The role is available for remote work from the United States, providing the flexibility to work from home and manage your schedule effectively.

Job Summary

The Guerrero Nahuatl Transcriber will be responsible for transcribing audio files in Guerrero Nahuatl, a crucial task for advancing our talk-to-text technology research. The ideal candidate will possess native-level proficiency in Guerrero Nahuatl, excellent typing skills, and the ability to follow project guidelines and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe assigned audio files accurately and efficiently
• Follow project guidelines and adhere to transcription standards
• Meet project deadlines and make consistent progress on assigned tasks
• Communicate effectively with project managers via email in English
• Label segments as required and ensure high-quality transcription output

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

• Native-level (C2) proficiency in Guerrero Nahuatl (ISO: ngu), with the ability to read and write
• Excellent grammar, orthography, and punctuation in Guerrero Nahuatl (assessment will be conducted through a test)
• Strong typing skills and computer/internet proficiency
• Web search skills and ability to navigate online platforms
• Good command of English (preferred)
• Responsiveness to email and ability to meet deadlines
• High-speed internet access and email availability
• Upwork profile or willingness to create one
