Engagement Manager - Remote Nonprofit Accounting Manager

Engagement Manager Sutro Li is seeking an Engagement Manager to join our mission-driven team. About the Role As an Engagement Manager reporting to the Associate Director, you'll be at the heart of our client relationships. In this role, you'll manage the accurate and timely delivery of financials, translate complex financial data into actionable insights, and serve as a trusted advisor bridging finance and mission objectives for our clients. What We're Looking For • Proficiency in cloud accounting applications (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks Online, Jirav, Bill.com, Gusto, Plooto) • Experience working with various levels of an organization, from finance staff to board directors with the ability to bridge the needs of different stakeholders in the finance cycle • Superior project management with excellent attention to details • Passion for supporting mission-driven organizations • Excitement for new technology and innovative accounting approaches • Experience working with India-based teams, a plus Key Responsibilities • Client Service and Relationship Management • Manage client expectations, balancing scope of work and client requests • Lead client meetings, maintaining a safe and open space for all participants • Monitor client satisfaction and relationship status • Financial Services and Analysis • Provide month-close services and value-added technical advice • Review monthly and annual financials, conducting analysis • Identify potential issues or risk areas in client financials • Perform final reviews of audit schedules and financial support documents • Team Management and Development • Oversee work of the India-based accounting team, ensuring quality of deliverables • Provide feedback to staff on performance, contributing to team building and mentorship • Project Management and Prioritization • Track deadlines for core client deliverables • Manage multiple client projects simultaneously Why Sutro Li?
