As a Full Stack Item Designer in the Development Notices Group, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Netflix and contributing to the company's continued success. Position Overview In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for developing and improving the Netflix product through notifications, A/B testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will work closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and data scientists to design and implement features that drive business growth and enhance the user experience. Your expertise in full-stack development, Java, JavaScript, and SQL will be essential in enabling item experiences and working with various backend systems. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop features to improve the Netflix product and drive business growth • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, engineering, and data science • Conduct A/B testing and experimentation to inform product decisions • Work with engineers to enable item experiences on various platforms, including Android, iOS, web, and TV • Develop and maintain large-scale, highly scalable gRPC services • Design and implement natural and extensible APIs • Create reusable, templated systems and frameworks Required Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: • Experience in creating customer-facing applications using experimentation strategies like A/B testing • Proficiency in Java or other object-oriented languages • Related experience in JavaScript or possibly Typescript • Front-end web development experience, including CSS, Sass/LESS, and a current JS framework • Experience writing SQL queries on large data platforms, such as SparkSQL, Voila, Hive, etc. • Ability to design and implement natural and extensible APIs • Experience creating reusable, templated systems and frameworks Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following skills and experiences are highly desirable: • Experience building backend systems to power frontend experiences • Experience working with product development teams • Experience building streams using various channels, such as push, SMS, messaging apps, and in-product messaging experiences • Experience with restriction systems and ICU formatting • Experience in creating responsive and interactive HTML or possibly AMP email development experience • Experience in building large-scale, highly scalable gRPC services Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: • Strong technical skills in full-stack development, Java, JavaScript, and SQL • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams • Strong understanding of user experience and product design principles • Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git Career Growth and Learning Opportunities At Workwarp, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
