As a Details Expert I, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our data and helping to craft compelling stories that resonate with our audience. **About blithequark's Details and Data Gathering** Our Details and Data Gathering team is responsible for creating and maintaining the data that powers our digital and television products. From sports scores and schedules to player statistics and team standings, we're the ones who make sure that the information on our platforms is accurate, timely, and engaging. Our team works tirelessly to ensure that our data is precise, efficient, and effective, and we're always looking for talented individuals who share our passion for data and storytelling. **Key Responsibilities** As a Details Expert I, you'll be responsible for: * Ensuring the accuracy of sports information disseminated by Details and Data Gathering * Working individually and in teams to deliver precise, timely, and engaging data to power our digital and television products * Creating and maintaining a working knowledge of Details and Data's role in fueling ESPN's digital and television products * Conducting thorough reviews of your own work and that of others, maintaining a high level of scrutiny and attention to detail * Contributing to the development of new projects, initiatives, and drives across the newsroom, and supporting newsroom leaders in coordinating full-time and part-time staff * Anticipating potential issues, both short-term and long-term, and proposing potential solutions * Collaborating with colleagues to develop or refine production processes * Participating actively in team and office meetings * Seeking and responding to feedback on personal performance * Staying up-to-date on current office policies and procedures **Required Capabilities** To succeed in this role, you'll need: * Working knowledge of sports teams, players, and the rules of the games * Full-time availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays * Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data that powers ESPN's digital and television products * Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production circumstances * Ability to communicate confidently, both verbally and in writing, with production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often in the midst of a busy newsroom **Preferred Capabilities** While not required, the following skills and experiences are highly desirable: * 1+ years of experience working in sports or data, ideally in media * Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes * Working knowledge of ESPN products and productions * Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office tools * Experience leading or training a team * Ability to speak and write Spanish * Experience incorporating social media in a business or news context **Required Education** A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role. **Preferred Education** A post-secondary education or equivalent is highly desirable. **Work Environment and Culture** As a Details Expert I, you'll be part of a dynamic and fast-paced team that's passionate about delivering elite information, insights, and storytelling.
