Key Responsibilities

As a Senior National Accounts Manager - Barnes & Noble and Indigo, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Account Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact for Barnes & Noble and Indigo, developing and executing sales strategies to grow revenue and market share.
  • Title Presentation: Present our Adult, Children's, and Special Interest lists seasonally, as well as trade-focused Academic titles, to key decision-makers at BN and Indigo.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, such as publicity, marketing, editorial, and operations, to ensure the successful execution of sales strategies and support BN and Indigo's evolving needs.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at BN and Indigo, ensuring alignment on sales objectives, promotional plans, and long-term business strategies.
  • Sales Performance Analysis: Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics and growth opportunities.
  • Market Insights and Analysis: Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to drive informed decision-making and optimize sales strategies.
  • Industry Staying Current: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to maintain a competitive edge.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:
  • Proven Sales Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, preferably in the book publishing industry, with a strong track record of driving revenue growth and managing key accounts.
  • Book Retail Landscape Knowledge: A deep understanding of the book retail landscape, including current trends, challenges, and opportunities.
