As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying complex software systems that leverage our wealth of tool data to drive business insights and decision-making. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs. You will also collaborate with other engineers and data scientists to develop and maintain our internal data platform, which is built on top of AWS, S3, Spark, and Trino. **Responsibilities** As a full stack software engineer on our Fleet Analytics team, you will be responsible for the following: * Designing and developing complex software systems that leverage our tool data to drive business insights and decision-making * Collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs * Developing and maintaining our internal data platform, which is built on top of AWS, S3, Spark, and Trino * Writing reproducible data analysis code using modern open-source technologies such as Jupyter notebooks, Pandas, Bokeh, Superset, and Airflow * Summarizing and communicating data analysis results to stakeholders * Building data pipelines to optimize the performance and accuracy of analysis work across the company * Designing and implementing metrics, tools, and equipment to enable engineers to self-serve their data insights * Writing clean and tested code that can be maintained and extended by other software engineers **Requirements** To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications and skills: * 7+ years of software development experience in an associated field * Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and data processing engines such as Apache Spark * Experience with data technology tools such as Pandas, Numpy, R, Matlab, Octave, Jupyter notebooks, Bokeh, Superset, and Airflow * Experience building data pipelines, web applications, and devices learning models in a professional environment * Strong foundation in statistics and data analysis * Experience building data visualizations and communicating data insights to stakeholders * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Strong problem-solving skills to help refine problem statements and determine how to solve them with the available data and from first principles * Smart but humble, with a bias for action **Nice to Have** While not required, the following skills and qualifications are highly desirable: * Strong proficiency in Scala * Understanding of distributed computing, including HDFS, Spark, and Presto * Experience with devops tools such as Linux, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes * Experience with complex hardware systems * Experience with continuous integration and continuous development **Benefits** As a full-time employee of blithequark, you will be eligible for the following benefits on day one of hire: * Aetna PPO and HSA plans, with two clinical plan options and $0 payroll deduction * Family-building, fertility, adoption, and surrogacy benefits * Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, with options that have a $0 paycheck contribution * Company-paid (Health Savings Account) HSA contribution while enrolled in the High Deductible Aetna clinical plan with HSA * Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) * LGBTQ+ care concierge services * 401(k) with company match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits * Company-paid Basic Life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance * Employee Assistance Program * Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for income positions), and Paid Holidays * Back-up childcare and parenting aid resources * Voluntary benefits include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & crime services, and pet insurance * Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs * Tesla Babies program * Commuter benefits * Employee discounts and perks program **How to Apply** If you are a motivated and talented software engineer who is passionate about data engineering, analytics, and cloud computing, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
