Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Full Stack Social Studies and History Teacher to join our team at Beaumont United High School. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students. With a strong focus on academic excellence and student growth, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional Strategies: Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the requirements of the district's curriculum program and demonstrate a deep understanding of the subject matter.
  • Student Growth and Development: Help students analyze and improve their study methods and habits, conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement, and assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
  • Classroom Management and Organization: Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students, and manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
  • Communication: Establish and maintain open lines of communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers, and use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
  • Professional Growth and Development: Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills, demonstrate interest and initiative in professional improvement, and demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
  • Policy Implementation: Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers, compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required, and attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as requested.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and a valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject/level assigned.
  • Experience: At least one year of student teaching or approved internship experience.
  • Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of core academic subject assigned, knowledge of curriculum and instruction, ability to instruct students and manage their behavior, strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Foreign Language: Fluency in a foreign language for LOTE teachers.
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certificate: Current AED certificate for Physical Education Teachers.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including:

  • Salary: $50,000.00 - $67,600.00 per year.
  • New Hiring Stipend: $2,000.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
