About the Role and Our Team

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team. As a staff software engineer at RVU/Uswitch, you will play a crucial role in building highly performant, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing customer experiences to make managing bills easier. Our team is dedicated to improving complicated marketplaces through intuitive and easily accessible applications that genuinely improve people's lives. Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Excellence: Work closely with established and experienced engineering teams to support and grow the organization's understanding and implementation of modern technology.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with various cross-functional disciplines across the organization to bring ideas to life and play an active role in shaping and delivering the ongoing technical vision of the organization alongside your peers.
  • Independence: Have ownership over technical strategy, decisions, and implementation approach, allowing you to deliver using practices that align with your preferred ways of working.
  • Data-Driven: Utilize rich logs, metrics, and data to monitor and improve system performance and reliability.
  • Culture: Enhance a diverse engineering culture by participating in various technical meetups, working groups, and All Hands.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Improve RVU's perspective by sharing your expertise, knowledge, and mastery in a continuous learning environment.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience: A strong background in software development, with experience working in large and small agile teams of engineers.
  • Technical Skills: A broad knowledge of software development and familiarity with procedural and functional languages, ideally having experience with Golang, NodeJS, Clojure, or Python.
  • Cloud Technologies: A good understanding of cloud technologies and their application to solve problems like Event/Data Ingestion and third-party API Integrations, as well as expertise in A/B Testing, Monitoring, and DevOps principles.
  • Collaboration: A willingness to collaborate with different disciplines, such as Marketing, Data Analysis, and Product Owners.
  • Problem-Solving: A pragmatic approach to delivering effective solutions to address business and consumer challenges.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

While not essential, the following skills and qualifications are desirable:

  • Leadership Experience: Experience in leading or mentoring teams, with a strong ability to motivate and guide others.
  • Domain Expertise: Knowledge of the energy or financial services industry, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in these sectors.
  • Emerging Technologies: Familiarity with emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, or blockchain, and their potential applications in the energy or financial services industry.
