About the position Montshire Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a dedicated Dental Billing Coordinator to join our team. Our mission is to provide quality dental care to every child in a comfortable environment, regardless of their financial status. The Dental Billing Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing the billing process for patients with private insurance coverage. This position is essential in ensuring that claims are processed accurately and efficiently, contributing to the overall patient experience and satisfaction. In this role, the Dental Billing Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the billing process from the moment an appointment is scheduled until the claim payment is received. This includes confirming insurance eligibility and submitting claims daily, as well as communicating out-of-pocket copays to patients prior to their appointments. The coordinator will also be tasked with accurately entering frequency limits, dental history, and policy coverage details to assist the clinical team in providing the best care possible. Collaboration is key in this position, as the Dental Billing Coordinator will work closely with the scheduling team to address any discrepancies in frequency limits or terminated insurance coverage. Additionally, the coordinator will support administrative staff with out-of-pocket collections as needed and will conduct monthly follow-ups on all outstanding claims that are older than 30 days, as well as past due patient balances. The role requires a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring that all insurance and patient payments are entered correctly. Above all, the coordinator will prioritize the treatment needs of our patients, working alongside all Montshire team members to achieve this goal. Responsibilities • Confirming insurance eligibility and claim submission daily. , • Communicating out of pocket copays to patients prior to appointments. , • Accurately entering frequency limits, dental history, and policy coverage details for clinical team members. , • Working with the scheduling team to inform of frequency discrepancies and terminated insurance coverage. , • Supporting administrative staff with out of pocket collection as needed. , • Monthly follow-up on all outstanding claims (older than 30 days) and past due patient balances. , • Insurance and patient payment entry. , • Collaborating with all Montshire team members to ensure patient treatment needs come first. Requirements • 1+ year(s) of experience in an administrative office role/setting. , • Previous experience in dental coding, billing, or collections preferred. , • Proficiency in dental terminology OR an aptitude to learn. , • Familiarity with Open Dental software is a plus. , • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. , • Excellent communication skills. , • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
