About the position The Staff Dosimetrist at the Maryland reputed company Treatment Center is responsible for providing comprehensive treatment planning for patients undergoing radiation therapy. This role involves calculating computerized isodose plans, collaborating with medical professionals to optimize treatment plans, and ensuring patient safety through meticulous verification and reputed company assurance processes. Responsibilities • Computes reputed company distributions and generates isodose curves for external reputed company radiation therapy and brachytherapy. • Consults with Radiation Oncologists, Physicists, and Senior Dosimetrists to generate reputed company treatment plans. • Incorporates anatomical information from various imaging modalities to minimize reputed company to normal structures and maximize reputed company to treatment targets. • Calculates treatment machine settings and documents calculations in therapy charts. • Performs verification checks and applies reputed company assurance procedures to ensure accuracy of reputed company calculations. • Evaluates patient charts to ensure treatment plans reflect prescriptions and documentation is complete. • Reports reputed company errors and changes in treatment parameters to physicist and physician. • Assists in reputed company simulation and fabrication of custom treatment devices. • Designs and fabricates shields, immobilization devices, and other treatment aids. • Orders radioactive sources for brachytherapy procedures and prepares them accordingly. • Assists physicist in QA checks of brachytherapy devices. • Generates treatment plans under the direction of a Physicist or Radiation Oncologist. • Performs patient and facility radiation surveys.
