Navigation Residency - Algorithms

The SandboxAQ Quantum Navigation team is deploying cutting-edge solutions to enable GPS-free navigation using the Earth's magnetic field. We're looking for a talented Navigation Resident to join our dynamic team! The resident will work on projects in state estimation, navigation filters, and software development, collaborating closely with Scientists/Engineers, and possessing strong critical thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on projects in state estimation, navigation filters, and software development
• Collaborate closely with Scientists/Engineers on the Quantum Navigation team
• Develop and implement state-of-the-art algorithms for GPS-free navigation using the Earth's magnetic field
• Contribute to the development of software tools and technologies for navigation and state estimation
• Present findings and research to the rest of Sandbox AQ

Eligibility:

• Currently enrolled in a STEM PhD or Masters Degree program in a relevant field, such as Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Geomatics, Mechanical Engineering, Navigation, Robotics, or Autonomy
• Proficiency with Python programming language
• Strong foundation in state estimation, statistics, and software development
• Experience with Kalman Filters and its derivatives
• Knowledge of magnetic navigation is preferred
