Restaurant Accountant

This is a remote position. Schedule: • Mondays to Fridays, flexible between 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Boerne, TX • 20 hours per week • Client timezone: Central Time Client Overview: A rapidly expanding restaurant group that’s scaling from one successful location to multiple establishments across Texas. Job Description: You’ll provide strategic accounting expertise and guidance to support a growing restaurant group’s financial operations. Working collaboratively with the bookkeeping team, you’ll ensure accuracy in complex restaurant accounting matters and provide the high-level financial insights that guide important business decisions. This flexible role offers the opportunity to shape financial strategy for an expanding multi-location restaurant business. Responsibilities: • Provide expert accounting guidance and oversight to the bookkeeping team • Review and advise on complex restaurant accounting matters including tips, inventory, and multi-location consolidation • Collaborate with bookkeeper to resolve challenging financial questions and ensure accuracy • Support strategic financial decision-making for restaurant operations and expansion planning • Ensure compliance with restaurant industry accounting standards and best practices • Provide expertise on chart of accounts optimization and financial reporting improvements Requirements • Extensive restaurant industry accounting experience with deep understanding of sector complexities • Advanced knowledge of restaurant-specific accounting practices including tips, payroll, and inventory management • Strong collaborative skills for working with bookkeeping team and providing clear guidance • Experience with multi-location restaurant accounting and consolidation preferred • Bonus if you have experience with Toast POS, QuickBooks Online, and restaurant tech integrations • It helps if you’ve supported growing restaurant groups through expansion phases Benefits Independent Contractor Perks: • Permanent work from home • Immediate hiring • Steady freelance job Please note that since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection.
