Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cement Dispatch & Customer Service Representative to join our team at blithequark. As a key member of our dispatch team, you will play a vital role in processing customer, driver, and hauler inquiries and orders, determining the best delivery methods, and negotiating rates with vendors and customers. Your exceptional communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability will enable you to provide top-notch service to our customers while ensuring the highest levels of satisfaction and profitability.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

As a Cement Dispatch & Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will be responsible for:
  • Processing customer, driver, and hauler inquiries and orders using our dispatch system, ensuring timely and efficient order processing.
  • Determining the best delivery methods and negotiating rates directly with vendors and customers, maximizing efficiency and profitability.
  • Scheduling orders in a timely and efficient manner, working closely with customers to adjust truck demand to meet proper delivery rates.
  • Managing hauler relationships, paperwork collection, and order processing, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Working with customers to resolve issues and concerns, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Determining callouts for the next day, ensuring that our dispatch team is well-prepared to meet customer demands.

Global Responsibilities

As a member of our team, you will be expected to:
  • Regularly attend and be physically present at work, as this is an essential function of the position.
  • Be flexible and willing to take on additional duties as needed to meet business requirements.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Chicagoland & NWI/WI area.
  • A minimum of 2 years of dispatch experience, with a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service and support.

Skills and Competencies

We are looking for individuals with:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish and Polish (preferred).
  • Good computer skills and general knowledge of Sales and Dispatch software.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence.

Working Conditions

  • Varied work schedule, including extended hours during peak season and split coverage during peak demands.

Physical Requirements

This role requires:
  • Extended periods of sitting in a chair, occasional standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, grabbing, and pulling.
  • Frequent use of fingers, wrists, and hands to enter data using a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
