Role Overview

As a Remote Spanish Immersion Elementary Teacher, you will design and deliver a rigorous, engaging Spanish‑language curriculum for kindergarten through sixth‑grade students. You will create an immersive learning environment that blends cultural authenticity with 21st‑century instructional practices. While teaching virtually, you will also foster strong relationships with families, collaborate with fellow educators, and actively contribute to the broader mission of CRISTA Ministries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan, implement, and assess a standards‑aligned Spanish immersion program that meets state and King’s Schools requirements.
  • Instructional Excellence: Employ differentiated instruction, technology integration, and inquiry‑based learning to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Assessment & Data‑Driven Instruction: Administer MAP Growth assessments, analyze results, and adjust instruction to close learning gaps.
  • Student Safety & Welfare: Monitor virtual classroom safety, ensure secure digital interactions, and coordinate safe car‑pool or bus drop‑off procedures when required.
  • Communication & Reporting: Submit weekly assignment sheets to families and administrators, maintain up‑to‑date student records, and provide timely progress reports.
  • Digital Presence: Update the classroom’s RenWeb portal, maintain a weekly blog or Facebook page, and manage the school’s website content related to the immersion program.
  • Professional Collaboration: Participate actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), faculty devotions, and district‑wide meetings.
  • Parental Engagement: Host virtual parent‑information nights, respond promptly to parent inquiries, and involve families in cultural celebrations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Faith Commitment: A personal declaration that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, coupled with full endorsement of CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish Language Teaching, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Certification: Washington State teaching certification (or eligibility for reciprocity) with endorsement for elementary education.
  • Language Proficiency: Native‑level or near‑native fluency in Spanish, with the ability to conduct an entire instructional day in Spanish.
  • Experience: Demonstrated success teaching in a Spanish immersion environment (or equivalent bilingual classroom) at the elementary level.
  • Technology Skills: Proficient with Office 365, Google Workspace, Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas, RenWeb), and virtual classroom platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, or similar).
  • Safety Training: Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
