Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply your knowledge of data science to analyze data patterns, interpret trends, and use statistical inference to gain continuous insights that could impact our design and validation of hardware systems across multiple Apple products.
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of engineers to build custom algorithms as needed; develop dashboards, mobile data visualization tools, and apply machine learning algorithms (classification, clustering, etc.) to answer complex questions and clearly communicate findings to non-technical audiences and cross-functional teams.
  • Work with the team to design and implement data-driven solutions that don't yet exist, driving innovation and growth in the company.
  • Provide input on the development of equipment systems, using data analysis and machine learning techniques to inform design decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our products and services.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of significant industry work experience in data-driven projects with a balanced understanding of statistical fundamentals and learning.
  • Proficiency with Python and data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, etc.).
  • Experience creating large visualizations/dashboards/presentations to cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding and exposure to the various stages of the data science cycle (definition, collection, preparation, extraction, analysis, modeling, and deployment).
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and agile software design principles.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience with machine learning projects and a passion for equipment product design using data analysis.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and experience working with large datasets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
