Role Overview and Responsibilities
As a Youth Sport Clinic Coach at the Johnstown YMCA, you will play a pivotal role in teaching introductory through intermediate skills, rules of play, and the Y Way to Play to young athletes. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, using both your own ideas and provided materials, to ensure a fun and educational experience for all participants.
- Assisting in officiating games and activities to ensure they run smoothly and safely, adhering to all scheduled start and end times.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Be at least 16 years old.
- Have significant involvement and understanding of the sport, preferably basketball, but experience in other sports such as soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, and lacrosse is also valuable.
- Obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification within 30 days of hire. Support and resources for obtaining this certification will be provided by the YMCA.
- Demonstrate the ability to organize and engage groups of children, breaking down complex skills into understandable and actionable steps.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with children, staff, other host staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
