Experienced Full Stack Software Engineer – Web & Cloud Application Development for Scalable APIs, Data Pipelines, and E-commerce Platforms

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team at Walmart, working remotely from the comfort of your own home. As a key member of our Affiliates and Social-Commerce group, you will play a vital role in constructing scalable and dependable APIs, data pipelines, and e-commerce platforms that power the next generation of affiliate, open-API, and social trade experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop incredibly scalable data pipelines and APIs using modern technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, and Hive.
• Gain exposure to various emerging technologies used in Marketing and E-commerce platforms.
• Drive high-visibility projects across the organization, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver results.
• Participate in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects, reviewing requirements, translating them into technical solutions, gathering necessary information, writing and developing code, engaging in unit testing, communicating progress and issues to team members and stakeholders, participating with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes, improving design to prevent re-occurrences of defects, and ensuring on-time delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in software engineering or a related field.
• Proficient in real-time and batch data pipelines using large data technology (i.e. Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, and Hive). Experience with Kafka or other high-volume, low-latency messaging infrastructure and building real-time and batch data-driven applications.
• Proficient in RESTful Services, Java, Scala, Spring Boot/Play Framework, RDBMS, NoSQL, and Python.
• Proficient with Experience with Cloud Technologies like Azure and GCP.
• Designed, built, and maintained APIs and services of incredibly scalable platforms.
• Extensive knowledge of open-source libraries, design patterns, and micro-service architecture. Familiarity with CI/CD and unit testing.
• Experience in manufacturing device operations (logging, telemetry, alerting, etc.).
• The eager eyes for details and the ability to learn, win, collaborate, and appreciate a challenge.
