This is a remote‑first opportunity that offers flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States while staying connected to a vibrant, collaborative team culture. Reporting to a senior leader in Product Management, you will drive strategic vision, translate market insights into winning roadmaps, and partner closely with engineering, design, data science, and research to deliver delightful, high‑scale experiences for our enterprise customers.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will be the strategic and tactical champion of your product domain, responsible for delivering measurable business outcomes. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities include:
- Strategic Vision & Roadmap – Define a compelling, data‑driven product vision that aligns with Smartsheet’s corporate objectives, customer pain points, and emerging industry trends. Craft and maintain a dynamic roadmap that balances short‑term wins with long‑term innovation.
- Cross‑Functional Leadership – Partner with senior engineering, design, research, and analytics leaders to secure alignment on priorities, investment decisions, and execution cadence. Facilitate clear communication across distributed teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Customer & Market Insight – Leverage internal usage analytics, external market research, competitive analysis, and direct customer feedback to inform product decisions and validate hypotheses.
- Experimentation & Validation – Design, prioritize, and oversee rapid experiments, prototypes, and MVPs. Work with research and data science teams to set success metrics, test assumptions, and iterate based on quantitative and qualitative results.
- Execution Excellence – Drive agile delivery practices (including SAFe® where applicable), manage dependencies, and remove blockers to ensure high‑quality releases at scale. Coach product teams on best practices for backlog grooming, user story definition, and continuous delivery.
- Stakeholder Communication – Present clear, persuasive updates to executives, partners, and customers. Articulate product health, performance trends, risk mitigation strategies, and success celebrations through decks, webinars, and written briefings.
- Mentorship & Talent Development – Guide and inspire junior product managers and cross‑functional contributors, fostering a culture of learning, ownership, and relentless improvement.
- Operational Ownership – Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of your product area—from opportunity identification, through development, launch, and post‑launch optimization—including financial stewardship of budgets and ROI tracking.
- Additional Initiatives – Support broader organizational initiatives such as diversity & inclusion programs, sustainability goals, and community outreach as needed.
