About the Role
The Reimbursement Business Manager is a key member of our Ophthalmology Field team, responsible for developing and executing account plans that build reimbursement confidence with customers, including physicians and their staff. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including Regional Directors and Medical Specialists, to educate physician offices on coverage and coding of Regeneron products, ensuring that patients have access to the care they need. Your expertise and knowledge will be essential in guiding healthcare professionals in resolving reimbursement issues and barriers, while demonstrating proactive planning and time management skills to efficiently cover your assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute account plans that build reimbursement confidence with customers, including physicians and their staff
- Proactively educate accounts on support services to ensure patient access to care and work with leadership to monitor and track the impact of support services
- Collaborate with Regeneron colleagues to educate physician offices on coverage and coding of Regeneron products and support patient access to care
- Guide healthcare professionals in resolving reimbursement issues or barriers in a manner that follows Regeneron policies and processes
- Anticipate and adapt to customer needs, as well as market changes and challenges
- Demonstrate proactive planning and time management skills to efficiently cover your assigned territory
- Establish positive working relationships with accounts, including physicians, administrators, and office staff, and effectively manage product concerns
- Proactively update customers regarding reimbursement requirements, payer trends, and payer policy changes, utilizing approved access materials to support reimbursement confidence
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, healthcare, or life sciences
- At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a minimum of 2 years of reimbursement experience
- Experience working with products delivered through a Specialty Pharmacy network
- Strong knowledge of reimbursement principles, including coding, coverage, and payment policies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop and deliver simple, concise messages tailored to various audiences
- Ability to work across key stakeholders and build strong partnerships, including physicians, administrators, and office staff
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and adapt to customer needs and market changes
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Biologic market expertise, particularly in ophthalmology
- Experience working with electronic health records and practice management systems
- Knowledge of healthcare policy and regulatory issues, including the Affordable Care Act and Medicare Part D
- Certification in reimbursement or a related field, such as the Certified Reimbursement Specialist (CRS) designation
