Job Overview

In this critical role, you will be responsible for responding to customer inquiries via telephone in a fast-paced call center environment. Your primary focus will be on providing exceptional customer service, addressing account maintenance requests, refund inquiries, password resets, and online State Registration requirements. You will also be required to perform light to moderate research using online web tools, staying up-to-date on current tax laws and policies to accurately educate and advise internal and external customers. As a key member of our team, you will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality when handling sensitive customer information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist customers via phone or in-person, providing timely and accurate solutions to their inquiries and concerns
  • Review confidential tax information, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to relevant laws and regulations
  • Perform account maintenance tasks in accordance with tax laws, policies, and procedures
  • Provide customer support for online self-service functions through the Georgia Tax Center, troubleshooting issues and offering guidance as needed
  • Utilize technology to provide advanced support, staying up-to-date on the latest tools and systems
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current tax laws, policies, and procedures, applying this knowledge to accurately educate and advise customers

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills. The minimum entry qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months of call center experience handling customer inquiries, complaints, and providing information
