This is a non-tenure track, full-time, benefit eligible, academic year appointed position (sabbatical backfill) on the Flagstaff Mountain campus beginning August 21, 2023. Job Description The Department of History at Northern Arizona University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month (sabbatical replacement) Visiting Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor in U.S. History with a preference with candidates who can teach U.S. Women/Gender History and/or U.S. Environmental History. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a commitment to inclusive undergraduate teaching and mentorship. The successful candidate will offer U.S. history courses at both introductory and advanced levels, including U.S. history surveys. The regular teaching load is 4:4. Minimum Qualifications Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor • Ph.D. in U.S. History or related field conferred by August 21, 2023. • Teaching experience at the university level.
