About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Remote Call Center Customer Service Representative to join our team as a Medicaid Member Support Specialist for the State of Iowa. As the initial point of contact for inquiries from potential and existing Iowa Medicaid Program recipients and affiliates, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and support. Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for inquiries from potential and existing Iowa Medicaid Program recipients and affiliates, providing one-to-one telephone contact with applicants, beneficiaries, and enrollees in customer service roles.
  • Accurately document enrollment requests and status changes, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and readily available.
  • Enter application and enrollment information into a web-based computer system for customers wishing to apply for the program over the telephone, maintaining technical and program policy proficiency in the Iowa Family Care rules/guidelines and other related program policies.
  • Provide clear, complete, accurate, and objective information based on a full understanding of program requirements, addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with applicants, beneficiaries, and co-workers, demonstrating empathy, commitment, and a customer-centric approach in all interactions.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED, with a basic understanding of a call center environment in a customer service role and quality monitoring processes.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with applicants, beneficiaries, and co-workers, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve through analysis and ongoing feedback, achieving results through knowledge, empathy, and commitment.
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, demonstrating cultural competence and sensitivity in all interactions.
  • Must reside within 1 hour driving distance from Des Moines, IA, with reliable internet access and a dedicated workspace.
  • Background check required, with a willingness to adhere to a break and lunch schedule and maintain excellent typing and grammar skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a call center or customer service environment, with a strong understanding of customer service principles and practices.
  • Excellent phone etiquette skills, with the ability to navigate a computer and understand/utilize policy.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
