Job Overview
In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service by explaining policy coverage, claim status, and assisting with claim payments or other policy information to policyholders and/or interested third parties via inbound calls. With a focus on first contact resolution and high customer satisfaction, you will utilize multiple systems to ensure that all inquiries and issues are handled efficiently and effectively. As a key member of our team, you will maintain adherence to defined operational standards, including attendance, utilization, call quality, and more.
Primary Responsibilities
- Handle a high volume of inbound calls, ranging from 70-120 calls per day, in a fast-paced call center environment
- Provide heavy phone contact with policyholders, providers, and interested third parties, ensuring that their needs are met on every interaction
- Review and maintain new and revised procedures regarding policy information, staying up-to-date on the latest developments and updates
- Ensure customer needs are met on every interaction, whether via phone, email, written correspondence, or other channels
- Maintain department standards for the number of calls, average handle time, and time management, consistently meeting or exceeding performance targets
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- 1+ years of work experience in a high-volume contact center environment, with additional experience in a receptionist role or a role that involves taking calls on a daily basis (strict requirement)
- 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Remote experience is strongly preferred but not required
- Reliable internet connection with a minimum upload and download speed of 20 Mbps, and a hard-wired connection
- A smartphone is required to access VPN
- Insurance industry experience is considered a plus but not a requirement
- A fire extinguisher is required in your home for safety reasons, and you must be willing to obtain one if you don't already have one
- A quiet and professional workplace is essential, with basic computer knowledge and skills, excellent oral and written communication, and a minimum typing requirement of 30 wpm
- Proficient use of a computer, keyboard functions, and Microsoft Office, with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and demonstrate excellent organization and time management skills
Location and Schedule
This is a remote position, with the opportunity to work from home nationwide (excluding Houston, TX, Miami, FL, New York, California, Hawaii, Washington, Washington D.C., New Jersey, Vermont, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Maine, and Wyoming). You will need to have open availability Monday-Friday between 7:30 am - 6:30 pm CST, with a schedule post-training that includes a 40-hour workweek, Monday-Friday, and no weekend shifts unless overtime is presented.
Training and Development
Our comprehensive training program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this role. The training program is 2-3 weeks long, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm CST, and will provide you with a thorough understanding of our policies, procedures, and systems.
