About the job We are seeking a dynamic Energy Industry Analyst to join the Latitude Media market intelligence team. We partner with leading companies and stakeholders in the climate tech ecosystem to provide high-quality, actionable insights and connections. The Role We are seeking a sharp, data-driven Energy Analyst to lead our analysis of one of the most disruptive trends in the sector: The impact of AI and hyperscale data centers on the electricity grid. Key Responsibilities • Market Analysis: Research and model the energy demand of the data center sector, including geographic hotspots, load profiles, and 24/7 carbon-free energy matching strategies. • Grid Impact Tracking: Monitor ISO/RTO queues and utility IRPs (Integrated Resource Plans) to assess how load growth is impacting transmission planning and generation capacity. • Content Creation: Author high-impact research reports, white papers, and research notes for Latitude Intelligence subscribers. • Data Visualization: Create compelling charts and visual models that explain the "crunch" between data center growth and grid constraints. • Thought Leadership: Collaborate with our editorial team to provide data support for news stories and occasionally present findings on webinars or industry panels. What We Are Looking For • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in energy market analysis, utility planning, or consulting. • Domain Knowledge: A strong understanding of U.S. power markets (wholesale markets, PPA structures, and interconnection processes). Familiarity with the data center/hyperscaler landscape is a major plus. • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel is required. Experience with Python, R, or SQL for data scraping and analysis is preferred but not required. • Communication: You are a writer as much as an analyst. You can explain why a data point matters to a business audience. • Curiosity: You are genuinely fascinated by the challenge of powering the AI revolution sustainably. Practical details Location: Latitude Media currently operates as a remote team. We welcome applicants based anywhere in the U.S. Our distributed team works out of coworking spaces in Boston, New York, San Francisco, and Seattle, though in-person work is not mandatory. Compensation + benefits: This position will pay between $75,000 and $110,000 base salary, commensurate with experience, and is eligible for equity in Latitude Media.
