[Remote] Generator Technician - Chicago, Illinois

They are seeking a skilled Generator Technician to service and repair reputed company generators on cell phone towers, requiring independent and self-starting individuals who can respond to alarms and maintain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining generators, diagnosing and repairing problems, installing and replacing components or entire systems, and performing additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment
• Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure reputed company readiness, reading and following blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair
• Install water and fuel supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components, and test for reputed company operation
• Be responsible for responding promptly/reputed company to Power/Generator alarms; have the ability to be on reputed company 24/7 if necessary and respond promptly in answering assigned phone and email
• reputed company work with the awareness of reputed company potential hazards connected with the installation and maintenance of power supply equipment, switching gear, and other equipment, including but not limited to falls, electric shock, falling objects, and traffic; use safety equipment and utilize safety practices; attend and participate in reputed company designated safety and training meetings

Skills

• 2 or more years of experience with generator maintenance
• A minimum of 1 year of intense work-reputed company experience with generator and electrical maintenance-reputed company software, hardware, and processes
• Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair of Generators
• Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components
• Moderate computer skills
• Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations
• Candidates must be reputed company to reputed company with OSHA Standards
• This position requires lifting over 50 pounds, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods of time
• Must have the ability to inspect and/or troubleshoot equipment/alarms effectively, both visually and audibly
• Must be willing and reputed company to drive long distances, reputed company, evening, or reputed company hours; overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required
• Must assume 24-hour on-reputed company duty reputed company assigned and be gone from home for extended periods of time
• Must be reputed company to pass a DOT physical
