Assistant Designer, Lingerie
Adore Me is seeking a passionate Assistant Designer to join their Creative team with a focus on lingerie. The role involves supporting the design process from ideation to production, collaborating with team members, and maintaining development pipelines while gaining expertise in intimate apparel design.
Responsibilities
- Support team from design ideation through PO placement- including fabric research, cost engineering, tech pack development, color assortment, and pass off to Production team with direction from Senior Designer
- Support team in preparing CAD boards and other materials for Creation's weekly work sessions
- Develop a deep understanding of the Adore Me customer and skillset to translate aesthetic of a concept into compelling and on-brand products
- Maintain sample arrivals from factories for all Intimate Apparel categories, including protos, CRS & Photo samples
- Maintain development pipelines and roadmaps
- Ability to sketch or to communicate design ideas via Illustrator and Photoshop
- Ability to clearly communicate with overseas vendors
- Provide organizational support to the team. Document and preserve all illustrations, design layouts, and design development information in tech packs for future reference
- Trend research, including competitive analysis and trend forecast services, to present relevant lifestyle trends, product trends, color trends, fabric and trim trends & garment details
- Work with color palettes, CADs, CC charts lab dips, and color samples
- Own lab dip reviews and comments for all Intimate Apparel categories
- Partner with the Technical Design team for fit pass offs and fittings
- Attend fittings with the team for product categories and ensure designs are reaching intended design aesthetic through fit approval
- Join fittings and take notes, as appropriate, while learning the Adore Me aesthetic, construction, and technical standards for Bras, Lingerie, Corsets, & Panties
- Utilize internal PLM (PCT) software for creating styles and products, updating with new information, while maintaining PCT life cycle for all Intimate Apparel categories
- Support team in building and updating internal presentations for assortment pass offs to Marketing, Merchandising, and Photo Teams
- Other departmental support as needed
Skills
- Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design
- 0-2 years of Fashion Industry experience
- Knowledge of Photoshop & Illustrator, Powerpoint/Google Slides
- Exemplary interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
- Highly motivated, collaborative
- Attention to detail, extremely organized, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment

- Ability to work on-site at our offices in SoHo on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Experience or degree concentration in Intimates Industry a plus
