Associate, BlackRock Investment Institute, Portfolio Researcher

The role of Portfolio Researcher within the BlackRock Investment Institute involves conducting research across asset classes and portfolio construction to generate climate-aware Capital Market Assumptions and develop quantitative models for asset returns.
Responsibilities
- Generating BlackRock’s industry-leading, climate-aware Capital Market Assumptions, including the development of new quantitative models to project asset returns through time
- Designing improved asset allocation processes with analytics that enhance portfolio construction and support clients’ long-term investment objectives
- Building our next-generation macroeconomic and asset pricing stochastic simulation framework, playing a central role in its research and development
- Developing, applying, and analyzing quantitative models for private markets and portfolio optimization
- Participating in global client engagement and contributing to internal and external stakeholder communications
Skills
- A demonstrably quantitative and creative mind, with a degree in a quantitative field (e.g. economics, finance, engineering, physics, and math)
- Strong communication skills and ability to distil research for broad consumption
- Strong statistical modelling and data analysis skills
- Open-minded thought process and intellectual curiosity
- Strong understanding of the use of computer technology in financial and economic research, with strong statistical package programming skills (e.g., R, Python)
- Intuition for and a passion in financial markets and with experience in the finance sector
- Working knowledge of common genAI tools, with the ability to develop bespoke LMM based tools a plus
- Motivated team player, flexible in approach and ability to work independently
- Responsive with keen attention to detail
