Financial Analyst - FP&A (Hybrid - Alhambra, CA preferred)
Astrana Health is seeking a Financial Analyst/Sr. FA to contribute to the organization's strategic and financial objectives. The role involves supporting long-range planning, conducting financial modeling, and performing core FP&A functions to provide actionable insights for leadership.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of the annual budget and monthly financial forecasts, working closely with cross-functional department leaders
- Perform detailed variance analysis between actual results, budget, and forecast, clearly communicating drivers and providing actionable insights to management
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support business cases for strategic investments and initiatives
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly earnings materials, including key financial exhibits, investor presentation support, and Q&A documents
- Analyze financial, operational, and accounting data to develop and advance routine and ad-hoc reports that track the financial performance of various business segments
- Serve as a key analytical resource, developing and providing specialized analytics to support strategic business partners across the organization
- Responsibilities include gathering, cleaning, and structuring data; developing and advancing complex financial models; facilitating collaboration with business partners to define inputs and assumptions; and effectively disseminating findings
- Conduct ad-hoc research and business case modeling to support the company’s strategic objectives, including evaluating potential investments and new expansion markets
- FP&A values process improvement and advancing analytics to better serve our business partners
- Financial Analyst will be empowered with project ownership, under the appropriate guidance of management, and asked to initiate innovation
- Project ownership is paramount with the expectation that the Financial Analyst will provide recommendations to drive data-driven decision-making
Skills
- BA in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics or related concentration
- 1-5 years of relevant work experience in corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or a related analytical role
- Advanced Proficiency with MS Excel and/or similar tool
- Comfortability with database tools and manipulation of large datasets
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Curiosity with courage to drive innovation
- Project management and communication skills
- Experience with data extraction, querying databases/data warehouses and data analysis
- Familiarity with data analytic tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar BI tools is a plus
