[Remote] Bookkeeper
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting theatre education. They are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and documentation management.
Responsibilities
- Processing accounts payable from vendor setup through payment and documentation filing
- Managing accounts receivable, including invoicing, applying payments, and tracking outstanding balances
- Coding transactions accurately by entity, program, department, and project/class structure
- Recording deposits and reconciling cash receipts across multiple payment platforms
- Completing bank and credit card reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- Preparing routine journal entries under the direction of the Director of Finance
- Maintaining organized digital records to support audits, compliance, and internal review
- Assisting with monthly close schedules, budget updates, audit preparation, and 990 support
