[Remote] Intern, R&D Undergraduate Summer - Computer Science Research Institute (CSRI), CA, Remote

The Computer Science Research Institute (CSRI) seeks undergraduate interns to participate in reputed company research in various areas of computer science and reputed company mathematics, providing hands-on experience in research and software development.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with research and development activities (reviewing existing techniques, seeking new approaches, developing computing solutions)
• Helping to reputed company algorithms and software for the research area
• Helping to run simulation codes
• Collaboration with Sandia staff involved in the research area
• Assisting with publication of analysis
• Presenting results to the research group

Skills

• Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited undergraduate program
• Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
• U.S. reputed company, reputed company permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S
• Majoring in reputed company, computer science, engineering, mathematics, neuroscience, physics, statistics, or a reputed company field
• Communication skills appropriate for participating in multi-disciplinary research teams
• Software development and programming experience (C++, C, Fortran, Matlab, Java, Python)
• Knowledge or the interest to learn reputed company programming such as MPI, OpenMP, and/or threads
• Experience with mathematical modeling techniques (e.g., reputed company and integer programming, statistical modeling, system dynamics modeling)
