Position Summary:
We are seeking a data-driven and fashion-savvy Market Research Analyst to support strategic planning, product development, and growth initiatives within the apparel industry. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical skills with a passion for consumer trends and retail dynamics. You will gather, analyze, and translate market intelligence into clear insights that guide product, marketing, and merchandising decisions.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct in-depth research on consumer demand, fabric preferences, style trends, and pricing expectations within large-scale apparel retail environments
• Collaborate with the product development team to create new categories or collections that align with market insights
• Support branding and marketing departments with research related to brand positioning, consumer feedback, influencer partnerships, and digital content trends
• Analyze internal sales data and market intelligence to generate actionable insights
• Monitor seasonal fashion cycles, competitor strategies, and global apparel trends
• Design and execute surveys, questionnaires, and user interviews to support deeper understanding of customer needs
• Compile insights and present findings in clear reports, charts, and visual summaries for key stakeholders
• Maintain and regularly update internal databases of trend, pricing, and consumer data
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., marketing, fashion merchandising, business, economics, or data analytics)
• 2–5 years of experience in apparel market research, retail analytics, product strategy, or a related field
• Strong skills in data interpretation, market analysis, and consumer insight development
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in fashion, apparel retail, and consumer behavior
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with fashion retailers, department stores, or trend forecasting firms
• Familiarity with data and research platforms (e.g., Google Trends, NPD, Mintel, Similarweb)
• Basic understanding of fabrics, apparel construction, and fashion buying cycles
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, or other analytics tools
• Exposure to influencer analysis, consumer segmentation, or brand monitoring
• Self-starter with curiosity, initiative, and the ability to contribute beyond assigned tasks
• Fluency in Chinese communication is preferred, but not required.
