In this role, you will lead the evolution of a core AI platform that powers multiple AI-driven product experiences at scale. You will operate at the intersection of engineering leadership, hands-on technical contribution, and AI product delivery, ensuring reliable and efficient AI services across cloud environments. Working closely with product, AI research, security, and SRE teams, you will help translate cutting-edge AI capabilities into production-ready systems. You will guide teams through complex technical challenges while maintaining a strong focus on reliability, performance, and cost efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to shape foundational AI infrastructure used across an entire product suite. Accountabilities: • Lead a cross-functional AI product engineering team, owning strategy, execution, and delivery across multiple AI-powered experiences • Define and drive the technical direction for AI systems, including inference backends, retrieval foundations, and user-facing AI capabilities • Partner closely with AI research and model training teams to align on model capabilities, evaluation frameworks, and productionization paths • Ensure high standards for reliability, performance, security, and token-cost efficiency of AI inference services • Oversee infrastructure operations, including on-call rotations and operational readiness across cloud environments • Operate in a player-coach model, spending approximately half of your time on hands-on engineering tasks such as writing evaluations, testing, debugging, and contributing to core systemsRequirements: • 4 to 7 years of experience in engineering management, leading high-performing technical teams • Recent hands-on engineering experience with TypeScript or JavaScript, Python, or Go • Strong background in B2B SaaS product development and scalable cloud-based systems • Demonstrated interest in AI and machine learning, with the ability to discuss current AI trends thoughtfully • Experience working directly on AI-powered products or platforms • Excellent communication skills and leadership presence, especially within distributed and remote teams • Willingness to participate in stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties as requiredBenefits: • Competitive annual salary range of $230,000 to $265,000, based on location, skills, and experience • Comprehensive health coverage, including medical, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance • Generous paid time off and paid holidays • 401(k) plan and equity participation • Fertility treatment benefits • Eligibility for a discretionary, company-wide bonus • Remote-first work environment with flexibility to work from where you are most productive Why Apply Through Jobgether?
