Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with a passion for building high-performance, low-latency platforms, and applications. As a key member of our engineering staff, you will play a crucial role in driving our insurance business transformation, working across the organization to provide a frictionless experience to our customers, and maintaining the highest standards of protection and availability. You will collaborate with various teams, including Salesforce CRM, Infrastructure, Architecture, Release Management, Application Security, and Business Product Owners, to develop and deliver critical solutions for arenaflex.

Key Responsibilities

• Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems
• Build product definition and leverage technical skills to drive towards the right solution
• Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle, including testing
• Lead in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization
• Define, create, and support reusable application components/patterns from a business and technology perspective
• Utilize developer tooling and a variety of Azure tools and services across the software development life cycle
• Mentor other engineers and consistently share best practices to improve processes within and across teams

Essential Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• Advanced programming experience with at least two modern languages, such as Java, C++, Python, or C#, including object-oriented design
• Strong understanding of web service integration (REST/SOAP) and enterprise middleware integration tiers (Apache Camel, Spring, Spring Boot)
• Experience using web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with Flutter and React
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead projects and interact with clients and sponsors
• Experience building the architecture and design of new and current systems, with a focus on reliability, scaling, and DevOps concepts
• Strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment

Preferred Qualifications

Desirable experience includes:

• Knowledge of Salesforce standard objects/records, custom object creation, validation rules, and relationships
• Experience with building and configuring flows, and process builders
• Familiarity with Salesforce Apex, SOQL, Visualforce, and Lightning Aura / LWC components
• Experience with enterprise integrations utilizing Event-Based Frameworks
• Working knowledge of databases, such as MS SQL Server and Oracle

Education and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
• At least 4+ years of professional software development experience with at least two modern languages
• 3+ years of experience building the architecture and design of new and current systems
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
• 2+ years of experience in open-source frameworks
