Azure Cloud Engineer
Booz Allen Hamilton is a leading consulting firm focused on delivering enterprise cloud solutions for defense and federal clients. The Azure Cloud Engineer will architect and deploy Azure cloud infrastructure, implement security controls, manage identity and access, and automate cloud deployments while ensuring compliance with federal standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver enterprise cloud solutions for defense and federal clients
- Architect and deploy Azure cloud infrastructure and platform services
- Implement Azure security controls and governance frameworks
- Manage Azure Active Directory, identity, and access management
- Design and configure virtual networks, ExpressRoute, and hybrid connectivity
- Automate cloud deployments using Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Bicep, or Terraform
- Monitor and optimize Azure resource utilization and costs
- Support application migration and modernization initiatives
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards and DoD requirements
- Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues
Skills
- 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure cloud engineering
- Experience with Azure security and compliance tools, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with PowerShell or Azure CLI scripting capabilities
- Knowledge of Azure networking and hybrid connectivity
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, including ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform
- Ability to architect and implement solutions in secure, compliance-driven environments
- Secret clearance
- HS diploma or GED
- Azure Associate-level Certification such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Developer Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or Azure Network Engineer Associate Certification
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II or DoD 8410 CSSP Certification
- Experience with Azure Government or Impact Level regions such as IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, or IL-6
- Experience with Azure Sentinel and security operations
- Experience with containerization, including AKS and Azure Container Instances
- Knowledge of FedRAMP and DoD IL compliance requirements
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, or a related field
- Azure Expert-level Certification such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Azure Security Engineer Associate Certification
- CISSP, CCSP, or Azure Security Engineer Associate Certification
