Intern
The Arizona Department of Health Services is dedicated to promoting and protecting the health of Arizona’s children and adults. They are seeking a talented intern to assist in enteric case investigations and management, while gaining valuable experience in public health practices and agency operations.
Responsibilities
- Enteric case investigation and case management activities
- Help develop and update interview training modules
- Participate in inter and intra-agency meetings
- Provide support for food and waterborne disease surveillance and outbreak response efforts
- Support enteric disease surveillance, case investigations, and outbreak response activities
Skills
- Current GPA standing of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Working towards a degree
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Knowledge of public health practices and procedures
- Skills in applying effective interviewing techniques
- Time management, organization, planning and problem solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and attention to detail
- Possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment
- Successful completion of the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify)
- Spanish speaking is a plus but not necessary
