Litigation Associate Attorney

McAngus Goudelock & Courie is an industry leading civil litigation firm celebrating 30 years of excellence. They are seeking attorneys to join their Litigation team, providing hands-on experience in all phases of civil litigation from case inception to trial, along with direct client contact.

Responsibilities

• Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations
• Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed
• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports
• Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary
• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants

Skills

• Must be licensed to practice law in New York or have pending New York bar exam results
• Juris Doctorate
• Bar
• 1-5 years: Prior insurance defense encouraged
