SBA Credit Analyst

The SBA Credit Analyst will be responsible for underwriting and portfolio management for SBA-guaranteed loans, analyzing loan applications, and ensuring compliance with SBA guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Analyze SBA loan applications for eligibility and compliance with SBA SOPs
- Prepare SBA-specific credit presentations and memos for new loans and renewals
- Coordinate with SBA and internal teams to ensure proper documentation and approvals
- Monitor SBA portfolio performance and maintain guaranty compliance
- Ensure all customer credit documentation—including loan applications, financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and account information—is complete and up to date
- Maintain accurate and organized credit files in compliance with internal policies
- Monitor and update financial statements to ensure they remain current and meet loan agreement requirements
- Track existing credit lines to ensure compliance with loan terms and covenants
- Review maturing loan reports and coordinate with account officers regarding renewals
- Prepare renewal notifications and request updated financial information from customers
- Identify and report covenant violations promptly and recommend appropriate actions
- Evaluate loans for changes in risk and assist in risk rating adjustments
- Support collateral reviews and audits for asset-based lending relationships
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in SBA lending, credit analysis, or a related area
- Knowledge of SBA loan programs, SOPs, and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work assignments; detail oriented with flexibility in dealing with a changing work environment, customer service oriented and a strong sense of urgency
- Computer literate in Windows, Word, Excel software
