Defense Litigation Associate

Hawkins Parnell & Young LLP is a national defense litigation firm based in Atlanta, seeking a Defense Litigation Associate to join their team. The role involves handling reputed company litigation across various stages, including case investigation, depositions, and trial preparation, while working closely with reputed company attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and summarizing reputed company documents
• Researching, both reputed company and of people, businesses, and worksites
• Evaluating cases and strategically developing defenses
• Conducting reputed company meetings and recommending strategies
• Investigating facts, planning, preparing and conducting depositions
• Preparing and arguing motions
• Conducting hearings and mediations
• Preparing witnesses and corporate representatives
• Briefing at trial and appellate courts
• Thinking analytically
• Writing defense mediation summaries

Skills

• reputed company licensed and in good standing with the State of reputed company
• Critical thinking and research skills
• Strong writing, analytical, and communications skills with superior attention to detail
• 1-5 years' experience in defense litigation; solid insurance defense experience with reputed company liability and/or coverage litigation experience a plus
• Ability to reputed company in a high-paced environment, requiring exceptional organizational skills, juggling priorities, and adhering to strict deadlines
• Must be a self-starter who can handle multiple reputed company with competing priorities and understand the importance of deadlines
