A typical day in this role could include a variety of exciting and challenging tasks, such as:

  • Serving as a resource or Subject Matter Expert (SME) for other team members or internal customers, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless operations
  • Handling escalated calls, resolving complex customer issues in a timely and professional manner, and ensuring a positive outcome for our customers
  • Answering incoming phone calls from policyholders, agents, and third-parties, processing and identifying the type of assistance the customer needs, and providing personalized support
  • Asking appropriate questions and listening actively to identify specific questions or issues, documenting required information in computer systems, and ensuring accurate and efficient resolution of customer inquiries
  • Owning problems through to resolution on behalf of the customer in real-time or through comprehensive and timely follow-up, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure a positive customer experience
  • Researching complex issues across multiple databases, working with support resources to resolve customer issues, and partnering with others to resolve escalated issues and improve our processes
  • Meeting performance goals established for the position in areas such as first call resolution, call quality, efficiency, provider satisfaction, and attendance, and continuously striving for excellence in customer service

  • Property and Casualty experience (Preferred), with a strong understanding of the insurance industry and the ability to apply this knowledge to resolve complex customer issues

Essential Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, including the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
  • At least one year of Contact Center customer service experience, with familiarity with multiple channels of customer contact (phone, email, and the like)
  • A High School Diploma or GED, with a strong educational foundation and a commitment to ongoing learning and development
  • Ability to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time zone) from Monday - Friday, including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need
