Contract Editor, Special Projects Investopedia is seeking an experienced finance editor to help our readers understand how to make smarter financial decisions while supporting our Special Projects team's work on high-impact editorial content. If you're passionate about educating and empowering others to handle complex financial topics, from investing to retirement planning, this role is for you. Assignment Details: 15 hours per week Start date: TBD End date: 6 months with potential to extend Hourly Rate: $50 Location: Remote–US About the Role: As a contract editor at Investopedia, you will help produce the most well-researched, trustworthy, and inclusive financial education content online. About Your Contributions: • Edit and publish new financial content to help readers understand investing, financial planning, homebuying, retirement planning, and more • Edit and update existing articles in Investopedia’s library for timeliness, freshness, style, and accuracy. • Follow Investopedia and People Inc.'s best practices and style guides • Collaborate with the Investopedia staff, as well as freelance writers and editors, on editorial projects About You: The ideal candidate is an experienced financial editor with a demonstrated track record of collaborating with well-established business and finance outlets. • 3 to 5 years of experience editing and publishing investing or finance content with well-respected outlets • 15 hours per week to commit to this role • Strong editorial skills, including demonstrated experience line editing for content improvements, grammar, AP style, and fact checking • Experience with SEO best practices • Deep knowledge of personal finance topics, such as financial planning, retirement planning, and investing • Superior organizational skills with a keen attention to detail • Technological savvy Please be aware of fraudulent recruiters offering opportunities at People Inc.
