Hardware Vulnerability Researcher
Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Hardware Vulnerability Researcher who will leverage their electrical engineering skills to evaluate hardware security in embedded electronics. The role involves designing techniques for testing and reverse engineering embedded systems to support critical missions and develop new capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate hardware security implementation in embedded electronics
- Design and develop techniques for testing memory subsystems, security subsystems, and debugging interfaces on electronic devices
- Apply tools and techniques to reverse engineer embedded systems
- Create tools for cutting-edge investigative capabilities for law enforcement
Skills
- 1+ years of experience in software development with C, C++, or Python
- 1+ years of experience in embedded systems and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) development
- 1+ years of experience monitoring and capturing system level buses and interfaces such as i2C, USB, or JTAG
- Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscope, logic analyzers, hardware debuggers and tools to monitor and analyze hardware
- Experience with assembly level microcontroller programming and configuration
- Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or CS
- Experience working with Operating System code
- Experience with Reverse Engineering using Ghidra or IDA Pro
- Experience with Fault Injection and Failure Analysis
- Experience developing side-channel attacks
- Knowledge of secure boot processes
- Knowledge of Cryptography
- Knowledge of Flash memory and RAM concepts
