Family Law Attorney

Virginia Family Law Center, P.C. is a boutique family law firm serving clients across Virginia with compassion and skill. They are seeking a self-motivated Family Law Attorney who will manage cases from start to finish, advocate for clients, and work collaboratively with colleagues in a flexible, high-performing practice.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in a full spectrum of family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, and related proceedings
• Conduct initial client consultations and assess legal strategy, risks, and case fit
• Advocate for clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop thoughtful, effective legal strategies aligned with client goals
• Maintain accurate, timely case records and documentation within firm systems
• Manage caseload independently while communicating proactively with the team regarding case needs and capacity

Skills

• J.D. from an accredited law school and an active Virginia Bar License
• 1+ year of family litigation experience, including but not limited to hearings, motions, and case strategy
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• A confident advocate with excellent client service skills and a patient demeanor
• Admission to additional bars, particularly Maryland or the District of Columbia
• Familiarity with Clio or similar cloud-based practice management systems
• Engagement in the local legal community through bar associations, committees, or professional organizations
